The Chairman of the Board of the Federal University Teaching Hospital, Lafia, Dr. Ikrama Hasan, has stated that the many years spent in the judiciary by the Emir of Lafia, Dr. Sidi Bage Muhammad I, greatly contributed to the promotion of justice and national development in Nigeria.
Dr. Hasan made the remarks while speaking with journalists during activities marking the Emir’s 70th birthday celebration.
According to him, the life history of the Emir of Lafia reflects dedication, integrity, and patriotism, from his years in the legal profession to his reign as a traditional ruler, where he has continued to play a vital role in promoting peace and unity among communities.
He noted that the presence of distinguished guests from different parts of the country at the celebration was a clear indication of the respect, honor, and high esteem in which the Emir is held by Nigerians.
“If you look at the large turnout at this event, you will see traditional rulers, politicians, senior federal and state government officials, and other prominent personalities from across the country. This demonstrates the special place His Royal Highness occupies in the hearts of the people,” he said.
Dr. Hasan further stated that the way the Emir has conducted his life—from his career in the judiciary to his current position as a traditional leader—serves as an inspiration to young people and society at large.
He described the Emir as a strong advocate of justice, peace, and community development, qualities that have earned him widespread acceptance and admiration regardless of ethnic, religious, or political differences.
The board chairman prayed for Almighty God to grant His Royal Highness continued good health, wisdom, and long life so that he may continue contributing to the development of the Lafia Emirate, Nasarawa State, and Nigeria as a whole.
